A Welcome Letter: We Begin This Path Together
Dear friends Jesuit alumni, companions,
Today, we ignite a new light.
With immense joy and a deep sense of service, we open this new channel of communication, a space designed to draw us closer, no matter how far apart we may be on the map. It is both an honor and a tremendous pleasure to present to you the official newsletter of the World Union of Jesuit Alumni (WUJA).
This is more than just another message in your inbox. It is the fruit of a shared aspiration: to strengthen the bonds that unite us as alumni of the Society of Jesus. It is the materialization of a bridge, built to connect diverse realities, cultures, languages, and experiences, all rooted in the same common foundation: the Ignatian education that shaped our lives and continues to call us to be “persons for and with others.”
In a world often marked by division and disconnection, our union stands as a powerful testimony that global fraternity and meaningful collaboration are not only possible- but essential. This newsletter aims to serve as a megaphone for that spirit of unity. Through it, we aim to:
- Celebrate the initiatives, achievements, and successes of our local unions around the world.
- Reflect together on how to integrate Ignatian values into our professional, personal, and civic environments.
- Encourage your active participation, share your ideas, your stories and help us weave an ever-stronger, more vibrant global network.
- Inform you about the steps we are taking as a global federation, including our exciting 2026 World Congress in Yogyakarta and the strategic plan that will guide us forward under a renewed sense of identity and purpose.
This is a space created by and for you, a meeting point where we can reconnect, inspire one another, and remember that the mission which began in the classrooms of our Jesuit institutions is far from over. On the contrary: it is being renewed and expanded through the energy of a global community.
To inaugurate this journey, we are honored to share words from two of our key leaders: our President, Francisco Guarner, and our Spiritual Counselor, Fr. Bill Muller, S.J., who offer their vision and blessing for this new chapter.
We warmly welcome you to this new digital home. May you receive it with the same spirit of affection and commitment with which it was created.
Welcome to the WUJA newsletter.
Sincerely,
The WUJA Communications Team
