Harnessing the Potential of Catholic Education Alumni to Improve Schools, Universities, and Society
Alumni have an important role to play in Catholic education and the promotion of integral human development. The Global Catholic Education project will aim to document good practices for engaging alumni. As a first instalment, for the Congress of the World Association of Jesuit Alumni in Barcelona, the team prepared a report entitled “Men and Women for Others: How Jesuit Education Alumni Can Contribute to Social Justice”. Part I of the report includes the Men for Others seminal address given by Fr. Arrupe S.J. at the 1973 Congress of European Jesuit Alumni and a text by Fr. Klein S.J. on how Pope Francis sees education. Part II consists of six contributions related to the role of alumni from different parts of the world. The hope is that these stories and reflections will help nourish and inspire the commitment of alumni to Catholic education and social justice. If you have interesting stories of alumni to share, please contact the Global Catholic Education project team.
